Face Lift

The original home here had been worked and reworked over the years. It was covered in bad siding hiding unfortunate construction methods and presented as a less than appealing package to the owners and pedestrians. The goal was to create more light filled, airy second floor spaces, pull the sun into the home where it had been shut out, and create an aesthetic that better represented the owners. We raised the roof and re shaped the entire façade. The welcoming cedar clad entry is framed by the new porch roof and the leaning vertical “bay” creating a place to sit out and enjoy the front yard. The leaning vertical two story element, a modern take on traditional bay windows, helps pull natural light inside 2 floors and gives the front façade its signature element. With a push here and a pull there, we transformed this home into its best life for the current generation.
